Volunteer of the Month of September

Rich Hobbs is relatively new to Estrella Warbirds Museum. But since starting in May of 2026, he has gone above and beyond to help the museum out! From picking up extra shifts in the Woodland Auto Display to helping out at big events here at the museum, Rich is usually the first to volunteer or at least say he is interested…

Rich is a catch-all of information and is not shy in the slightest way! Give him a topic and he will run with it and delight the guests who visit the museum with rare and wonderful facts they did not know they needed.

Rich cultivated his gift for speaking with over 40 years of auto service under his belt but also used to DJ events! But, has he done country western radio? Yes, he has….duuh!

If you are lucky enough to encounter him as a docent at the Woodland Auto Display, ask him about his 1968 AMC AMX- yes, he is one of the few, proud and BRAVE to still own one.

But in all seriousness, Rich is a joy to have here at the museum to share his knowledge with a huge smile, warm heart and definitely a story that can top any you can come up with!!!
