Richard Buc
Rich was born and raised in Cleveland, Ohio. His father served in the US Army as an MP and was stationed in Munich, Germany a few years after WWII ended, and was very influential in Rich’s reverence for the US Military—past and present. Rich’s interest in military history, especially WWII and military aviation, stemmed from watching television programs and documentaries with his dad while in grade school.
After graduating high school, Rich moved to Newbury Park, California, to join close relatives who were also Army, Navy, and Air Force veterans. He worked as a busboy and waiter at the Velvet Turtle Restaurant, attended Moorpark College, and played football. He later transferred to San Diego State University, where he completed his studies in Political Science and Economics.Rich eventually relocated to the Bay Area, beginning a 35-year career in high tech. He held successful positions in sales, business development, and sales operations management at companies including Dell Technologies, McAfee, Oracle, and Cisco Systems. Throughout his career, Rich established a reputation as a self-starter and critical thinker who consistently achieved high-level performances aligned with strategic business objectives.
In 2022, Rich and his wife of 30 years, Denise, moved from San Ramon to San Miguel to transition into retirement, which they both began in 2025.
