Ron was born in a small Kansas town around 1935, then his family moved to Lomita, California in 1950.
He graduated from Narbonne High School in Lomita and joined Northrop Aircraft, Nortronics division in 1953. Thus began a long career in electronics from manufacturing to engineering until his retirement from the Northrop Research and Technology Center in 1991.
Ron and his wife, Jackie, decided to leave southern California and relocate to Atascadero Ca in 1995. He has served on the board since early 2000 as Facility Maintenance Manager, also on the Use commitee and Construction Commitee.
Ron is currently involved with a formerr board member, Mike Kelley, in setting up a display of vintage Military Communication equipment and an operable Amateur Radio club station at the Museum.
He had Jacke were married a short 58 years and have two daughters and two grandchildren. Ron's hobbies include amateur radio,
restoring and operating vintage radio equipment, G gauge model railroading, model RC boats and vintage automobile restoration and repairing just about anything.
Estrella Warbirds Museum has grown tremendously since Ron and Jackie arrived. It wasn't long after their arrival that Jackie took over management of our gift shop. Ron's knowledge of electrical his ability to fix things has been a real asset to the growth of the museum. We appreciate his service to the museum!
